Recognizing the issue of insufficient medical resources in remote areas, the company has been offering free medical services to safeguard the health of rural residents for the past decade. This year marks the 10th anniversary of its rural volunteered medical service. Once again, CHC Healthcare Group has partnered with the CHC Charity Foundation and the medical team of Yeezen General Hospital. In collaboration with ophthalmologists dedicated to serving remote communities and a volunteer service club formed by employees, they traveled to Ton-Fu village in Xinyi township, Nantou County, to enhance medical services in underserved areas.
A Decade of Commitment: Fulfilling Social Responsibility Through Action
Since its inception in 2012, CHC Healthcare Group’s “Joining Hands to the Mountains – Rural Free Medical Service ” initiative has provided annual medical services to remote communities. Except for a temporary suspension during the pandemic, the initiative has served over 1,500 rural residents in the past decade. In addition to health check-ups, the program promotes health education to integrate wellness practices into daily life. The Volunteered Medical Service offers internal medicine and ophthalmology consultations, basic physical examinations, and health education campaigns, along with muscle relaxation and massage therapy to relieve work-related musculoskeletal tension among residents.

This year, more than 160 villagers benefited from the The Volunteered Medical Service, attracting participation from surrounding communities and further spreading health awareness among a broader population. The medical team not only provided professional consultations but also aimed to translate medical knowledge into practical health management strategies for residents. Through continuous execution of the free clinic, the initiative seeks to instill the concept that “prevention is better than cure” by fostering regular health check-ups as an essential measure to reduce disease occurrence and safeguard public health.
