Eleven Years of Deep-rooted Service: Bringing Medical Care to Xinyi, Nantou
On November 29, 2025, CHC Healthcare Group returned to Tongfu Village in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, to host the “Hand in Hand to the Mountains” rural medical mission. Now in its eleventh year, this long-term initiative remains committed to providing professional and compassionate medical services to residents in remote areas.
Collaboration of Medical Professionals and Volunteers: Mobilizing Cross-Sector Expertise
The Group invited the professional medical team from Yee Zen General Hospital and partnered with the Cheng-Lin Charitable Foundation for this mission. We were also honored to have Dr. Hsin-Nung Li from Pai Chia Hsin Eye Center and Director Yun-Hsuan Lin from High-End Eye Clinic join our cause. Through the dedicated efforts of volunteers from both the Group and the Foundation, we successfully mobilized resources from across sectors to serve over 140 residents, safeguarding the health of this remote community.
Tailored Care Based on Local Needs: Caring for Physical and Mental Well-being
The mission provided tailored consultations in internal medicine and ophthalmology, along with comprehensive health screenings including height, weight, blood pressure, hearing, abdominal ultrasound, vision, and intraocular pressure. These exams helped residents gain a clear understanding of their health status while strengthening health education to enhance self-care awareness. Additionally, massage therapy services were offered to relieve the physical tension and fatigue caused by long-term labor, reflecting our commitment to the residents’ holistic well-being.
Launching the Inaugural Home Visit Service: Extending the Reach of Care
This year marked the debut of our “Home Visit Service.” A professional team consisting of physicians, nurses, social workers, and volunteers personally visited the homes of elderly residents with limited mobility. By conducting environmental safety assessments and providing health consultations, the team offered recommendations for subsequent long-term care or medical referrals. This initiative extends the impact of our medical mission directly into the home, deepening our care for remote areas and addressing the challenge of healthcare inequality.
CHC Healthcare Group looks forward to continuing these rural medical missions to raise public health awareness and establish the principle that “prevention is better than cure.” By joining forces with all sectors of society, we strive to build a healthy, warm, and sustainable future for all.
